Ann P. DePrince, Ph.D.

  • Anne P. DePrince is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning at the University of Denver. DePrince completed her doctoral training at the University of Oregon and clinical internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado. Her research, focused on the consequences of trauma in both youth and adults, examines emotional and cognitive correlates of interpersonal violence (including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, child abuse, and family violence).  DePrince directs the Traumatic Stress Studies Group (www.du.edu/~adeprinc/lab.html).  In addition to numerous peer-reviewed publications, DePrince has co-edited two volumes on traumatic stress. DePrince received the 2005 Public Advocacy Award from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies for advancing the social understanding of trauma; and the 2010 United Methodist Scholar Teacher Award from the University of Denver.

    Ann T. Chu, Ph.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Denver who researchers the consequences of violence. In particular, her research examines the trajectory of traumatic experiences through a lifespan perspective. She regularly presents and publishes on her research. A licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado, she has specialized training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and currently supervises graduate-level trainees through the Child and Family Clinic at the University of Denver. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Denver and her internship at the University of California, San Francisco.
