Monica Colvig, Esq.

  • Monica received her BA from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 2002 with a major in Latin American history. She received her Juris Doctor from Lewis and Clark School of Law in Portland, Oregon in 2005 where she also served as president of the Minority Law Student Association and received the Cornelius Honor for scholarship, leadership and contribution to the law school community.  She practiced law in Portland for three years before returning home to Colorado with her family.

    Monica has worked for the non-profit organization, Alternative Horizons for the past five years as attorney and advocate for victims of domestic violence, which has included high conflict / high lethality divorce and custody issues and protection orders.   She also has a private practice with an emphasis on victim advocacy.  She is passionate about access to justice and legal representation for underserved populations as well as volunteering her time for various community organizations and projects.
