Darla Stuart has been the Executive Director of The Arc of Aurora for more than 21 years. The Arc of Aurora provides advocacy support with and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. Throughout Ms. Stuart’s tenure at The Arc of Aurora, she has co-authored two nationally-distributed training manuals, “People with Developmental Disabilities and the Justice System: Access Denied” and “Have We Gotten Too Big for our Genes.” In addition, Ms. Stuart has served as Project Supervisor for two DOJ/OCV nationwide projects devoted to addressing victimization of people with IDD. In Colorado, Ms. Suart was instrumental in the passage of Colorado’s Hearsay Exception for Victims with Developmental Disabilities.
