“Daddy Was Jumping On Mommy!” The Paradigm Shift: Forensic Interviews With Children Who Have Witnessed Domestic Violence

  • Nationally, children’s advocacy centers (CACs) are interviewing more children who witness domestic violence.  Interviews of child witnesses to domestic violence have increased significantly at Ralston House.  It’s important for individuals who work with domestic violence victims to understand how the CAC process works: providing parents with a sense of safety, privacy, comfort and resources; helping parents realize the extent of the abuse their child witnessed; impact on their child’s development; and beginning the healing process.
