Being In Your Body: Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Survivors of Sexual Assault
-
- Presentation speakers
Cutting-edge research in the field of trauma therapy suggests that most trauma survivors require some type of body-based intervention in order to fully heal from a traumatic event. Trauma-sensitive yoga (TSY) represents one such intervention. While many TSY trainings approach trauma from a generalized perspective, this workshop will offer specific guidelines for catering TSY to survivors of sexual assault. This workshop is designed for direct service providers and will include both didactic and experiential elements to help participants introduce TSY to sexual assault survivors in a safe, therapeutic fashion. No prior experience with or knowledge of yoga is required.
